2000 AD #1291

This May 2002 prog of Britain's beloved weekly anthology hits hard with a cover by Frazer Irving that pulls no punches — a massive, mechanized maw lined with jagged teeth dominates the image, and tumbling helplessly within it are several screaming, terror-stricken faces rendered in vivid red. The tagline "In the Mouth of Madness — Evil Has Been Unleashed in Mega-City One..." sets a wonderfully ominous tone for "Sin City Part 3," written by John Wagner with art, inks, and colors by Kev Walker. Irving's cover is genuinely unsettling in the best 2000 AD tradition, and with Wagner and Walker driving the interior, prog 1291 is a strong entry in any collection.
