Jamal Yaseem Igle, born in 1971 in the Bronx, New York, is an American comic book artist, writer, editor, and storyboard artist. He is best known as the creator of the all-ages superhero series *Molly Danger*, and for his extensive work penciling, inking, and coloring DC Comics titles such as *Supergirl*, *The Ray*, and *Firestorm*. Igle entered the industry in the mid-1990s, contributing to series like *Nightwing* and *Iron Fist: Wolverine* before becoming a regular artist on *Firestorm: The Nuclear Man*. His clean, expressive style and dynamic storytelling made him a sought-after collaborator. He co-created the character of the New 52 Supergirl with writer Michael Green and Mike Johnson, and later wrote and drew the socially conscious series *Black* with Kwanza Osajyefo. In addition to comics, Igle has worked as a marketing executive, art director, and animation storyboard artist. He has taught at the School of Visual Arts and mentored emerging artists. Igle has been nominated for multiple Eisner Awards and received the 2018 Glyph Comics Award for Best Writer. His legacy includes a strong advocacy for diversity in comics and a steady output of creator-owned work.
