Who is Wong?

Wong is a master sorcerer from a lineage of men who have served the Sorcerer Supreme for generations. Trained in the mystical arts in Kamar-Taj, he became the loyal servant and ally of Doctor Strange, eventually developing formidable magical abilities of his own.

Few supporting characters in Marvel history have proven as quietly indispensable as Wong, who stepped onto the Silver Age stage in Strange Tales #110 back in 1963, courtesy of Stan Lee, H. E. Huntley, and Dick Ayers. Over more than six decades — 267 catalog appearances and counting, with five collector-recognized key issues to his name — Wong has grown from a debut-era introduction into one of Marvel's most enduring presences, his story woven through the pages of Doctor Strange, Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme, and Strange. He keeps extraordinary company, sharing adventures alongside Stephen Strange himself, Spider-Man, Peter Parker, and the Hulk, which tells you everything about the cosmic weight of the world he inhabits. If you've ever wanted to understand the mystical heart of the Marvel Universe, following Wong's long journey is one of the most rewarding places to start.
