Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #21

The Dread Dormammu looms enormous over the cover of this 1990 Marvel issue, his flaming-ringed head dominating the background as a visibly strained Dr. Strange — clad in his blue tunic and golden gloves — recoils before him, with a white-haired woman in a flowing pink gown caught between them. "The Dark Wars, Part 1 of 4" promises a sprawling mystical conflict, and cover artist Butch Guice frames the threat with real menace, making Dormammu's return feel genuinely ominous. Roy and Dann Thomas kick off what looks to be an ambitious four-part saga for the Sorcerer Supreme.
