“The Light That Never Was!”

Marvel Fanfare #8 brings a wonderfully surreal energy to this May 1983 anthology title, with a cover by Carmine Infantino and Terry Austin that plunges readers into a swirling supernatural showdown. A caped, sword-wielding figure in ornate red and gold robes faces down an enormous blue armored giant crowned in gold, while a ghostly white wraith-like figure looms to the left and a hulking pink demon creature lurks on the right — the whole scene crackling with mystical tension. Peter Gillis and Carmine Infantino team up inside for "The Light That Never Was!", promising the same imaginative, otherworldly atmosphere that makes this oversized format such a treat.
