Marvel Fanfare #6

P. Craig Russell's cover for this January 1983 issue of Marvel Fanfare is a genuinely arresting piece of work — a darkly cloaked, glowing-eyed figure crouches atop a towering stone pillar while Spider-Man, bound and helpless, is pinned beneath those imposing boots. Surrounding them is a lush, hallucinatory dreamscape of coiling serpentine creatures, a luminous alien moon, and a ghostly skull-faced apparition looming over a distant castle. It's a vivid, painterly composition that makes "Switch Witch" feel like a journey into something altogether stranger than your average Marvel adventure.
