Leech
Leech is a mutant child first encountered living among the Morlocks, the underground community of outcasts beneath New York City. His passive power neutralizes the abilities of other mutants nearby, making him both an innocent and an involuntary threat to those around him.
Few characters introduced in the Bronze Age have clung to Marvel's mutant tapestry quite as tenaciously as Leech, who first crawled into readers' hearts in The Uncanny X-Men #179 back in 1984, courtesy of Chris Claremont, John Romita Jr., and Dan Green. Over an extraordinary four-decade span stretching from 1984 all the way to 2026, this little figure has racked up 103 catalog appearances β including eight key issues that collectors keep a sharp eye on β popping up most prominently across X-Factor, FF, and Generation X. He's consistently kept remarkable company, sharing pages with the likes of Artie Maddicks, Beast, and Iceman, which tells you everything about the corner of the Marvel Universe he inhabits: scrappy, strange, and full of heart. If you love the weirder, more vulnerable side of mutantkind, Leech is absolutely worth tracking down.
