The X-Men try to figure out what to do with the seemingly omnipotent Mr. M who has been using his powers to help and heal the mutants at the school. They also accuse Val of turning the institute into a veritable mutant prison. Some of the natives grow restless and want to leave but the Sentinels stand in the way.
