Forsythe Jones II

Forsythe Jones II — better known as 'Jughead' — is Archie Andrews' laid-back best friend in Riverdale, introduced in Archie Comics. A perpetually hungry, girl-averse teen, he became a cornerstone of the gang at Riverdale High.

Few characters in comics history have proven as enduringly beloved as Forsythe Jones II, the laid-back, burger-loving cornerstone of Archie Comics who first sauntered onto the page in Pep Comics #56 back in 1946, brought to life by Golden Age artist Irv Novick. Nearly eight decades of publication later — a remarkable stretch from the post-war era all the way to 2025 — he remains a fixture of the Archie universe, most at home in the pages of Jughead, Jughead's Double Digest, and Archie's Pal Jughead Comics.
