Jughead #38

Rex W. Lindsey's cover for this 1992 Archie Comics issue captures the chaos perfectly: two rock climbers scale a sheer cliff face while Jughead — skateboard and all — goes tumbling through the open sky above a gorgeous mountain landscape, his "S" sweater unmistakable as he flips helplessly through the air. It's a wonderfully absurd snapshot of the kind of misadventure only Riverdale's most lovably laid-back resident could find himself in. Self-billed as "Earth's Funniest Comic Book," Jughead #38 delivers on that promise right from the cover.
