This 1966 issue puts Archie and his gang in full rock-and-roll mode, with the cover showcasing "Archie and His 3 Piece Rockers" in action — Archie on guitar, Jughead behind a purple drum kit, and the whole Riverdale crew gathered around for the fun. Betty and Veronica look on as the band delivers the punchline right on the cover: asked why they call themselves a three-piece band, Jughead cheerfully admits, "Because that's all the pieces we know!" It's a warm, laugh-out-loud snapshot of mid-sixties Riverdale charm, and the promise of more gags inside — including the story "Tennis Menace" — makes this a delightful 12-cent package.
