Trevor Von Eeden
Trevor Von Eeden was born on July 24, 1959, in Guyana, and later moved to the United States. He is best known as a pioneering comics artist, writer, and occasional actor, recognized for his dynamic and expressive style. Von Eeden broke into the industry in 1977 at just 18 years old, becoming DC Comics' first Black artist to draw a major superhero series. His most celebrated work includes co-creating the character Black Lightning, alongside writer Tony Isabella, and contributing to titles such as *Batman*, *Green Arrow*, *Power Man and Iron Fist*, and the biographical graphic novel *The Original Johnson*. His signature style blends fluid linework with a keen sense of movement and character, often collaborating with writers like Denny O'Neil and Mike W. Barr. Von Eeden also wrote and drew the cult-favorite series *Thriller* and contributed to *Black Canary* and *Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight*.
