Styled as a vintage boxing-match promotion on a blazing yellow field, the cover by Adam Hughes and Joe Rubinstein pits Guy "Grinder" Gardner squaring off against Blue "Battling" Beetle in a twelve-round championship bout — complete with their gloved, grimacing portraits presented side by side like fight-night placards. The whole spectacle is billed as produced in association with Maxwell Lord Enterprises, lending it a wonderfully absurd corporate sheen that fits the Giffen & DeMatteis era perfectly. If you've ever wanted to see two Justice League teammates settle their differences in the ring, this 1991 issue makes the matchup look unmissable.
