Legends of the Dark Knight #18

Part three of the five-part "Venom" saga arrives in this May 1991 installment of Legends of the Dark Knight, with a cover by José Luis García-López that tells a quietly haunting story all on its own. A bearded, disheveled Bruce Wayne slumps in a chair — his Batman costume worn but his cowl removed — while scattered pills litter the floor around him and his empty suit stands propped on a stand behind him like a hollow monument. Dennis O'Neil, Trevor Von Eeden, and Russ Braun bring the interior to life, making this one of the more psychologically charged chapters in the arc's exploration of Batman's limits.
