David Wohl is an American comic book writer and editor whose career spans from the late 1980s into the 2020s, accumulating credits on more than 226 issues across that stretch. He built his reputation on both sides of the editorial desk, working as an editor at Marvel Comics before moving to Top Cow Productions, where he would do some of his most recognized work.

At Top Cow, Wohl contributed significantly to the shared universe that defined the publisher's identity through the 1990s and beyond. He wrote for flagship titles including The Darkness and Witchblade, two of the imprint's cornerstone supernatural action series, and also racked up substantial credits on Cyberforce, Codename: Stryke Force, and Ripclaw — titles that helped establish Top Cow's gritty, kinetic aesthetic during a formative period for the company. His editorial experience clearly informed his storytelling instincts, giving him a practical understanding of how serialized superhero and action narratives are constructed and sustained.

Beyond his Top Cow work, Wohl demonstrated range as a writer on Executive Assistant: Iris, an Aspen Comics series that became one of his most credited individual titles. His career reflects a generation of creators who moved fluidly between editorial and writing roles, shaping publisher identities from multiple vantage points simultaneously.
