“The Beginning”

"The Beginning" kicks off Witchblade: Movie Edition #1 with a pulse-pounding blend of noir tension and supernatural mystery, as police officer Sara Pezzini and her partner Michael Yee stumble upon a dangerous secret at the Rialto. When a mysterious gauntlet known as the Witchblade is put on display by businessman Kenneth Irons, Sara’s desperate attempt to stop the violence leads to a life-altering moment—she touches the gauntlet, and it bonds to her hand in a flash of power. Written by Brian Haberlin, David Wohl, Christina Z, and Michael Turner, with art by Michael Turner and inks by D-Tron, John DiRito, and Nathan Cabrera, the issue delivers a gripping, grounded origin that sets the stage for the supernatural conflict to come. The cover by Frank Ockenfels captures the intensity of that first, fateful encounter.
