D. G. Chichester

Born August 22, 1964, D. G. Chichester is an American comic book writer who built his reputation primarily through work at Marvel Comics across a career stretching from the late 1980s into the 2020s. He found his footing during an era when Marvel was experimenting with darker, more mature storytelling, and his writing sensibility fit comfortably within that direction.

Chichester is perhaps best known for his substantial run on Daredevil, where he guided the Man Without Fear through some notably grim narrative territory. He also wrote Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., bringing a harder-edged espionage tone to that series. Beyond those flagship titles, his catalog reflects a genuine appetite for horror and street-level action — he contributed meaningfully to Terror Inc., Nightstalkers, and the adaptation of Clive Barker's Night Breed, demonstrating comfort operating at the grittier margins of mainstream superhero publishing.
