The fifth and final chapter of "Apogee of Disaster" arrives in style with this January 1991 issue, cover-penciled by Bryan Hitch and inked by Steve Geiger — and the cover delivers a satisfying payoff. Nick Fury, eye patch firmly in place and clad in a white tactical suit, stands shoulder to shoulder with the Thing as they face a chaotic explosion of debris and machinery, with another white-suited figure visible in the background and the bold promise of "the last of Lohan!" splashed across the bottom.
