He is best known for co-creating the Epic Comics series *Alien Legion*, a space-opera military saga that blended science fiction with gritty realism. He penned runs on *Moon Knight*, *Thor*, and *Conan the King*, often working with artists like John Buscema and Bill Sienkiewicz. His work on *Conan* and *Kull the Conqueror* showcased a talent for dark fantasy and heroic adventure. Zelenetz also co-founded Ovie Entertainment, moving into film production later in his career.
