This October 1985 entry in Marvel/Epic's gritty science-fiction series puts the Legion's dire circumstances front and center — a towering, blood-soaked purple alien creature looms over a tiny lone soldier, while two more of the hulking creatures close in from the flanks, their glowing eyes and bared teeth making the odds look genuinely grim. Cover pencils by Chris Warner and inks by Frank Cirocco give the scene a raw, visceral energy that fits the story's title, "Desperate Measures," perfectly. Fans of hard-edged 1980s sci-fi action will find this issue an easy one to seek out.
