Longshot
Longshot is an artificial humanoid created in the Mojoverse, a dimension ruled by the tyrannical media mogul Mojo. Engineered as a slave for Mojo's entertainment broadcasts, Longshot rebelled against his masters and eventually escaped to Earth, where he allied with the X-Men.
Few Marvel characters arrived with quite the splash Longshot did — bursting onto the scene in 1985 in his own self-titled series, crafted by the visionary team of Ann Nocenti and the jaw-droppingly detailed Arthur Adams, whose linework alone made that debut an instant Bronze Age landmark. A full decade of collected appearances and ten key issues speak to just how much this character captured readers' imaginations from the very start. As an X-Men affiliate, Longshot has kept extraordinary company over the years — sharing adventures with Wolverine, Storm, and the Summers and Munroe legacies across the pages of The Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor, and Exiles — making him a genuine fixture of Marvel's mutant universe across an impressive four decades of publishing. If you love characters with a distinctive visual identity, a pedigree debut, and real staying power in the Marvel cosmos, Longshot is absolutely worth tracking down.

Trivia
- Longshot's mythology took a wild continuity turn when Marvel retroactively established Shatterstar as his son — a revelation that blindsided readers precisely because the character's earliest stories gave him no known family connections whatsoever.marvel.com
- Chris Claremont has written more of Longshot's comics than any other writer in our catalog — 52 issues.
