“The Boy Who Saw Tomorrow!”

Part of Marvel's 1997 "Flashback" initiative, Uncanny X-Men #-1 takes readers into the past with the story "The Boy Who Saw Tomorrow!" The cover by José Ladrönn and Juan Vlasco is a striking tableau: a towering, helmeted Magneto looms over the scene, his massive hands reaching outward, while a glowing red-haired woman spreads her arms protectively over two men — one anguished, one unconscious — amid swirling clouds of yellow energy. A small inset panel in the upper corner shows a figure in red and green soaring against a bright sky, adding to the sense of a story that spans time and consequence.
