Leonardo
One of four brothers mutated from ordinary turtles by a mysterious ooze and raised in the New York City sewers by their rat sensei Splinter, Leonardo emerged as the disciplined, katana-wielding leader of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Few characters from the Copper Age have proven as enduringly beloved as Leonardo, who first leapt onto the page in 1988 courtesy of creators Michael Dooney and David Wise in Archie's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures. Over an impressive 36-year publishing run, this blue-masked hero has anchored titles like Mighty Mutanimals and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Giant Size Special, sharing his adventures with iconic figures including Splinter, April O'Neil, and the menacing Oroku Saki β better known as Shredder. With 85 catalog appearances and at least one recognized key issue to his name, Leonardo is a cornerstone of Archie's TMNT universe and a must-know for any collector who loves the era when comics got wonderfully weird and wildly fun.
