Bugs Bunny

Dell · 1952–1962 · 58 issues
About the series

From 1952 to 1962, Dell Comics published 58 issues of Bugs Bunny, bringing the wisecracking, carrot-chomping rabbit to the four-color page with a reliably funny, family-friendly touch. The series was most often written by Carl Fallberg, Don R. Christensen, and Michael Maltese, with art by Tony Strobl, Fred Abranz, and Phil De Lara, giving it a consistent, cartoonish energy that echoed the classic Warner Bros. shorts. Alongside Bugs, the cast regularly included Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, Petunia and Cicero Pig, and Sylvester the Pussycat, making each issue a lively, gag-filled romp through Looney Tunes territory. A cornerstone of Dell’s all-ages lineup, this run helped cement Bugs Bunny as a comic-book star for a generation of young readers.
