Ancient Rome gets the full Looney Tunes treatment in this 1953 Dell ten-center, as Bugs Bunny commandeers a barrel-on-wheels chariot — complete with a sword lodged in its side — and grins his way through what looks like a very unauthorized Roman joyride. Hot on his heels, a flustered Elmer Fudd cracks a whip from his own horse-drawn chariot, decked out in a Roman helmet and blue cape but looking every bit as outmatched as ever. Ralph Heimdahl's cover art captures the pair's madcap chase with lively energy, making "The Roamin' Roman Rabbit" an irresistible slice of mid-century cartoon comedy.
