Bugs Bunny #55

From Dell's June–July 1957 run, this cheerful issue finds Bugs Bunny — dressed in ragged tribal wrappings — playing a carrot like a flute for a wide-eyed young islander sitting behind a drum, the two sharing a moment of musical mischief against a bright green background. The story title "Waylaid by the Woo Woo Warriors" promises plenty of good-natured adventure ahead, and Fred Abranz's cover pencils capture Bugs with that trademark mix of cool confidence and playful charm. A delightful snapshot of mid-century funny-animal comics at their most lighthearted.
