Bugs Bunny #78

A gardener's ambitions have never looked quite so delightful — on this 1961 Dell cover by Fred Abranz, Bugs Bunny is caught mid-pour, enthusiastically shaking a box of "Plant Food" over his garden patch while an enormously oversized carrot towers beside him, already shaking with growth. The little row of normal-sized carrots at his feet makes the giant one all the funnier, and Bugs' wide-eyed grin suggests he's both thrilled and just a little surprised by the results. Inside, the fun continues with the story "The Robbing Robot," making this a fine slice of early-'60s cartoon comics charm.
