Bugs Bunny #37

Dressed in a snappy red marching-band uniform, Bugs Bunny plays a flute with his trademark smirk while a flustered, similarly uniformed Elmer Fudd thumps a bass drum beside him — sparks flying where the instruments nearly collide. Ralph Heimdahl's cover for this 1954 Dell issue captures the duo's comic rivalry in a cheerful parade-ready setting that's hard to resist. With interior art by Phil De Lara, including the delightfully titled story "The Big Carrot and the Three Bears," this is a charming slice of mid-fifties funny-animal comics at its most entertaining.
