“The "Hole-in-One Trick"”

Bugs Bunny takes a big, grinning swing with a baseball bat while a wide-eyed Elmer Fudd crouches below, catcher's mitt and ball in hand — a perfectly charming snapshot of the duo's playful rivalry in this 1955 Dell issue. Tony Strobl's cover pencils capture both characters with real personality, Bugs practically coiling around himself mid-swing as Elmer looks equal parts nervous and bewildered. At just ten cents, it's a cheerful slice of mid-fifties cartoon fun with the promise of Strobl and John Liggera's craft carrying through the pages.
