In "Beast Boys and Girls, Part One: Concrete Jungle," a mysterious illness known as Green Fever begins spreading among children, granting them powers eerily similar to Beast Boy’s. As Superboy heads to Gotham searching for Tim, he instead encounters Stephanie Brown stepping into the role of Robin, while a flashback reveals the origins of the boy who would become Beast Boy. Written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Tom Grummett, with inks by Lary Stucker, colors by Jeromy Cox, and letters by Comicraft, this 2004 issue features a cover by Ed McGuinness and Dexter Vines.
