History

J.T. Krul took over scripting duties with issue #88, and Nicola Scott joined him simultaneously as the series' regular penciler — a creative pairing that DC announced in mid-2010. Issue #89, titled 'Bruised Egos,' was the second chapter of their run together and the first to deliver on both of their headline additions: the Damian Wayne arc (spanning #89–91) and the gradual introduction of Kiran Singh, whose codename and full power-set were being held for the concurrent Wonder Girl one-shot published the same month. The issue shipped on-sale in November 2010 with a January 2011 cover date, and featured a notable variant cover by Frank Quitely alongside Scott's standard cover — an unusual pairing that reflected DC's promotional investment in the new creative direction.
