Archie's Double Digest Magazine #11
In "Trouble Free," Archie finds himself caught between two worlds when he stumbles upon a group of kids skipping school after their moms gave them a hard time. Playing along as a rebellious dropout, he tries to talk them back to class—only to realize too late that his own plan has backfired, leaving him late and in trouble. A clever, character-driven story from writer Frank Doyle and artist Harry Lucey, with inks by Marty Epp and letters by Bill Yoshida, this 1984 Double Digest gem features a classic Archie twist, all under Dan DeCarlo’s iconic cover pencils and inks.

Archie, on his way to school, notices kids skulking around and finds that the kids are playing hooky from school because their moms were mean to them. The kids then decide to take it one step further - drop out, run away and do their own thing. Archie pretends to be a disheveled dropout and convinces the kids to go to school. Unfortunately, Archie's now late for school and he's the one who gets in trouble.
