Samm Schwartz captures a perfectly relatable scene on this 1962 cover: a stern, white-haired teacher looks on disapprovingly as Jughead, Archie, and their Riverdale friends turn their mid-morning snack break into a full-scale feast, complete with a spread of sandwiches and a carton of milk. Betty, wide-eyed and caught in the act, nibbles away while the teacher delivers the deadpan verdict: "I think some of you are overdoing our mid-morning snack break!" Frank Doyle and Schwartz were clearly in fine form here, and with an interior story titled "Sleepy Time Pal," this issue promises the kind of cheerful, effortlessly funny Jughead comedy that made the series a lunchbox staple.
