“Terror in the Center Ring”

In "Terror in the Center Ring," Archie and Reggie are stunned when Veronica is taken — but the twist comes when Reggie transforms into the menacing Evilheart. As the real Veronica emerges, it's clear the kidnapped girl was only a look-alike, and chaos unfolds when Evilheart crashes his motorcycle on an icy road. With the Ice Cube making off with the real Veronica, Archie finally embraces his destiny as Pureheart to face the villain in a showdown that redefines heroism. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Bob White, with inks by Mario Acquaviva, colors by Sal Contrera, and letters by Mario Acquaviva, the cover by Bob White captures the moment’s high stakes.

Reggie and Archie watch as Veronica is kidnapped, and Reggie becomes Evilheart. But Archie can't become Pureheart. Only then does the real Veronica show up, the other girl only looked like Veronica. As Evilheart races back, he loses control of his motorcycle thanks to an icy strip of road. Archie then becomes Pureheart and the two heroes duke it out while the Ice Cube kidnaps the real Veronica.
