Archie's Joke Book Magazine #101

Set inside a soda shop booth, this 1966 cover from Archie's Joke Book Magazine #101 nails the series' signature comedy: Archie and Veronica sit across from each other, each buried in a bright yellow book — his titled "Dating the Expensive Date," hers "Dating the Cheap Date." Dan DeCarlo's cover pencils give both characters perfectly deadpan expressions, turning a simple diner scene into a gag that lands before you even open the cover.
