Archie's Double Digest Magazine #19
In "Brute Farce," Betty convinces Little Archie to walk her home after school, but he’s determined to avoid what he sees as a "sissy" chore—so he takes her on his infamous shortcut through Spook Woods and the Hockomock Swamp, hoping she’ll turn back on her own. Meanwhile, three of Betty’s stuffed dolls—a bumbling panda, a vain sea captain, and a wise old witch—watch her actions from afar, puzzled by her unusual behavior and quietly speculating on what might be behind it. Written and drawn by Bob Bolling, with lettering by Marty Epp, and featuring a cover by Dan DeCarlo, this 1985 Double Digest gem blends classic Archie charm with a touch of whimsical mystery.

Betty convinces Little Archie to walk her home after school. Not wanting to walk any more "sissy girls" home, Little Archie decides to take her via his famous short cut, through Spook Woods and the Hockomock Swamp, hoping that she'll turn back and go home by herself. Meanwhile, three of Betty's stuffed dolls -- a stupid panda, a vain sea captain, and a wise old witch -- comment on her behavior and try to figure out what (or who) is making her act so strangely.
