Archie #207
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeA pitch-perfect slice of early-'70s Riverdale energy, this March 1971 issue finds Archie snapping his fingers in groovy fringed fashion, proposing a "love-in or a be-in" to the gang — only to be met by a teacher leaning out a French-class doorway with the counter-proposal of an "exam-in." Betty, Veronica, and Jughead look on in colorful period-perfect outfits, while Reggie and another student catch the exchange from the foreground. Cover pencils by Dan DeCarlo capture the lighthearted clash between teenage counterculture enthusiasm and school-day reality that made Archie comics such a warm, reliable treat.

Miss Grundy asks Archie to take some papers to Mr. Weatherbee's office. Archie is walking past the baseball field on his way to the office, when he sees a fly ball heading his way. He holds the papers between his teeth as he tries to catch the ball, which hits him on the head. In the last panel, Mr. Weatherbee is seen holding papers which have a bite mark in them, looking confused, as Archie looks away trying not to look guilty.
