Mrs. Cooper
Mrs. Cooper is the warm but firm mother of Betty Cooper in Riverdale. An ordinary small-town woman, she has appeared as a steady parental presence in the Cooper household since the early days of the Archie Comics series.
Few supporting characters in American comics can claim a Golden Age debut and still be turning up in stories nearly eight decades later, but Mrs. Cooper has done exactly that β first stepping onto the page in Archie Comics #18 back in 1946, brought to life by the legendary Bob Montana and Bill Vigoda. A warm fixture of Riverdale's domestic landscape, she's spent those 78 years keeping company with the likes of Pop Tate, Miss Grundy, Mr. Weatherbee, and Mr. Lodge across beloved digest staples like Betty & Veronica (Jumbo Comics) Double Digest and Archie's Girls Betty and Veronica. With two collector-recognized key issues to her name and 86 catalogued appearances, she's proof that Archie's world has always been as much about its richly drawn community of adults as its teens β and any serious Archie enthusiast will want to track her quiet, enduring presence through the decades.

Trivia
