Saladin Ahmed

Saladin Ahmed was born on October 4, 1975, in the United States. Before entering comics, he established himself as a prose and poetry writer in science fiction and fantasy, with his 2012 novel *Throne of the Crescent Moon* earning a Hugo nomination and winning the Locus Award for Best First Novel. His short fiction appeared in venues such as *Strange Horizons* and *Beneath Ceaseless Skies*.

Ahmed transitioned to comics in the late 2010s, quickly becoming known for his character-driven superhero work. He wrote acclaimed runs on Marvel titles including *Black Bolt*, *Exiles*, *Miles Morales: Spider-Man*, and *The Magnificent Ms. Marvel*, as well as *Daredevil*. He also co-created the original horror series *Abbott* and its sequels *Abbott: 1973* and *Abbott: 1979*.
