Spine-Tingling Spider-Man #4

Juan Ferreyra's cover for this 2024 Marvel horror series says everything with striking economy: an enormous, skeletal Spider-Man mask looms over four trapped figures — a young man at the center and three others flanking him — all bound within the mask's web-like iron framework like insects caught in a very literal trap. The image has a genuine chill to it, trading superhero flash for something closer to a nightmare, and it's a fitting close to Saladin Ahmed and Ferreyra's four-issue run. If you've been following this eerie corner of the Spider-Man universe, issue #4 looks like a suitably unsettling finale.
