Absolute Carnage: Miles Morales #2

Part of Marvel's 2019 Absolute Carnage crossover event, this second issue plunges Miles Morales straight into symbiote nightmare territory — and Clayton Crain's painted cover makes that viscerally clear. Miles is shown unmasked and wide-eyed, his suit partially consumed by writhing black-and-crimson symbiote tendrils, while a monstrous symbiote-corrupted Spider-Man looms enormous and menacing directly above him. It's a gripping image that sets a tense, desperate tone for Saladin Ahmed's story, brought to life inside by Federico Vicentini and colorist Erick Arciniega.
