Ralph Reese (born May 19, 1949) is an American artist whose career in comics, illustration, and comic strips spanned from the 1960s into the 2010s. He is best known for his collaboration with writer Byron Preiss on the serialized feature "One Year Affair," which ran in *National Lampoon* from 1973 to 1975 and was later collected as a book in 1976. Reese began his career in the studio of Wally Wood, assisting on mainstream and alternative-press comics as well as trading cards. He went on to produce fantasy and horror illustrations for science-fiction magazines and black-and-white horror-comics magazines, and drew stories for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and Valiant Comics. His most credited titles include *Magnus Robot Fighter*, *Conan the Barbarian*, *T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents*, and *Blade Runner*. He also spent a year drawing the *Flash Gordon* newspaper strip for King Features. Reese’s work is marked by a detailed, atmospheric style suited to the fantastic and macabre. He remained active in the field into the 2010s, with credits as artist, colorist, inker, letterer, and writer on 76 issues.
