This Gwandanaland Comics collection reprints Skywald's Nightmare material, spotlighted here by a striking Boris Vallejo cover depicting a massive, snarling reptilian creature of the deep lunging through murky underwater depths while a human figure desperately tries to escape its reach — skulls and strange fish lurking ominously in the background. The cover copy promises "a tale so unreal, so terror-fraught, but so close to the truth," and with the interior story "Slime World" brought to life by the creative team of Chuck McNaughton and Ralph Reese, there's clearly plenty of eerie imagination waiting inside. A fine showcase of early-1970s horror comics atmosphere, gathered here in one accessible 2019 reprint edition.
