☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis volume collects issues #5-8 of Dark Horse's 2008 revival of The Savage Sword of Conan, presenting a quartet of grim, standalone adventures set in the Hyborian Age. The stories, drawn from the original black-and-white magazine format, feature Conan as a wandering mercenary and thief, with scripts by Roy Thomas and artwork by artists including Paul Gulacy and John Buscema. The collection also includes a cover gallery and bonus material highlighting the series' pulp-inspired aesthetic.
In "Abode of the Damned," Conan and Fafnir the Vanir find themselves stranded on the cursed island of Bal-Sagoth, where ancient ruins and deadly secrets await. With their lives on the line, the two warriors must set aside their differences to survive, rescue a mysterious girl named Kyrie, and confront the power-hungry high priest Gothan. Written by Roy Thomas and brought to life with bold art by Gil Kane and inks by Ralph Reese, this issue features a striking cover by Boris Vallejo.
