This 2019 Gwandanaland Comics collection reprints Skywald's 1975 Nightmare Winter Special, and the cover — rendered by Vicente Segrelles and Maelo Cintron — sets a perfectly unsettling holiday mood: a rotting, ghoulish Santa Claus clutches a gift bag in the snow while a dark, hulking figure lurks ominously in the background. Inside, Jerry Siegel and Ralph Reese deliver "Die Mummy!" alongside a full slate of seasonal shocks promised on the cover, including "The Human Dead vs. The Human Gargoyles," "Deathwalk!," and "Fistful of Flesh." Horror and holiday cheer have rarely made such a grimly entertaining pair.
