“Frankenstein 1973”

In "Frankenstein 1973," a desperate Marcia finds herself trapped in a roach-infested apartment building, her fear of insects worsened by her messy neighbors, the Schapalovs. As the infestation spirals, she begins to wonder if there’s any way to escape the crawling horror—and the people who seem to invite it. Written by Gerry Conway and Thomas M. Disch, with art by Ralph Reese and striking cover by Boris Vallejo, this 1973 Marvel tale blends psychological dread with creeping menace in a story that’s as unsettling as it is unforgettable.

With an extreme phobia against roaches, Marcia was stuck in an apartment building infested with them. It was made worse by her neighbors, the Schapalovs, with their unclean habits, drawing even more roaches into the building. If only there was some way to get rid of the roaches and the Schapalovs.
