Marguerite Bennett
Marguerite Bennett, born in 1988, is an American comic book writer who has built a substantial body of work across both mainstream superhero publishing and creator-owned projects. She broke into comics around 2013 and has remained consistently active, accumulating writing credits on more than 260 issues across a range of titles.
Bennett is perhaps best recognized for *DC Comics: Bombshells* and its follow-up *Bombshells: United*, reimagining DC's heroines in a World War II setting, as well as her run on *Batwoman* and the event series *Earth 2: World's End*. Outside the superhero mainstream, her creator-owned work has drawn considerable attention: *Animosity*, which explores a world where animals suddenly gain sentience and turn on humanity, and *InSEXts*, a darkly fantastical Victorian horror series. She also wrote *Angela* and brought her sensibility to *Josie and the Pussycats*.
A recurring strength throughout her career is her treatment of female relationships and LGBTQ characters and narratives, work that earned her GLAAD Media Award nominations in both 2016 and 2017. More recently, Bennett has expanded into animation, serving as one of the head writers on *Ark: The Animated Series*, demonstrating a range that extends comfortably beyond the printed page. Her career reflects a sustained commitment to centering underrepresented perspectives within genre storytelling.
