1602: Witch Hunter Angela #1

Part of Marvel's 2015 Secret Wars event, this opening chapter drops Angela into a richly reimagined Elizabethan world as a armored witch hunter, and Stephanie Hans's cover painting makes an immediate case for why the series deserves attention. Angela is rendered here in burnished gold plate armor, a feathered crown-helm framing her cascade of deep auburn hair, one gauntleted hand gripping a great polearm while an ornate ribbon trails at her feet — every detail radiating dangerous authority.
