Volstagg
A boisterous, enormously rotund Asgardian warrior, Volstagg is one of the legendary Warriors Three. Once a formidable fighter, his battlefield glory days are largely behind him — though he'll roar defiance at anyone bold enough to suggest it — and he remains a loyal, larger-than-life champion of Asgard.
Few supporting players in Marvel's cosmic mythology have carved out as beloved and enduring a niche as Volstagg, who burst onto the scene in Journey into Mystery #122 in 1965, conjured by the legendary duo of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby at the very height of the Silver Age. For over six decades — 316 catalog appearances and counting, stretching all the way to 2026 — this larger-than-life Asgardian has been a fixture of Thor's world, sharing countless adventures alongside the Thunder God himself, the trickster Loki, noble Balder, and fellow warriors Hogun and Fandral. His presence spans Thor, Thor Annual, and the recent Immortal Thor, a testament to just how deeply he's woven into the fabric of Asgardian storytelling. With 16 key-issue appearances to his name, Volstagg isn't merely background color — he's a genuine piece of Marvel history that any serious collector of the Thor mythos will want to explore.
Real name. Volstagg
Powers. Master Combatant: Volstagg is a good hand to hand combatant and horseman, though his battle prowess has dwindled considerably over time, not that he will allow anyone to even hint of such an insult. He remains proficient in using a sword or quarterstaff in battle. Additionally, he has mastered the art of using his great size to best advantage on the field of battle and at the dinner table.

Trivia
- Stan Lee has written more of Volstagg's comics than any other writer in our catalog — 37 issues.
