About the series
From 1971 to 1984, Charlton Comics’ Ghost Manor delivered 77 issues of eerie, self-contained horror, often with a lighthearted twist. Anchored by the prolific scripting of Joe Gill and the distinctive, moody artwork of Steve Ditko and Sanho Kim, the series introduced a recurring cast of ghoulish hosts—including Mr. Bones, Baron Weirwulf, and Winnie the Witch—who introduced each tale of the supernatural. A staple of the Bronze Age horror anthology, it stands as a prime example of Charlton’s ability to churn out spooky, accessible thrills without the Comics Code restrictions that limited its rivals.
